This workshop conducted by Eeva Muilu focuses on interaction between body, mind and language. The aim of the sessions is to stop and contemplate our own physical presence through motion and writing. We perform different exercises focusing on presence, perception and listening to the body, and write about the impressions they evoke. How does our own way of dancing speak to us? How does dance feed back to the movements of the mind? How do the movements of the mind feed back into the dance? The activities enable the participants to engage in dialogue with their bodies and their own way of dancing – just as they are in the present moment.
The course was arranged for the first time in autumn 2016, and is open for continuing students and beginners alike.

Eeva Muilu is a Finnish choregrapher and dancer. She's attracted by the capability that dance has to rehabilitate person to his/her own bodily beeing, ever unfolding perception of this moment and non-verbal cogniton.
Muilu has been creating stage works since the year 2002; solos, group works, co-works with artists from many different art fields and work repeatedly in her works with people from other fields of life. Her performances have been seen vastly in Finland and abroad. Muilu worked as the Zodiak house choreographer in the years 2007-2009. She was awarded with the Prix d’Jardin Europe in 2012 together with Milja Sarkola and the annual Critics' Spurs award of the Finnish Critics' Association in 2008. Muilu has graduated from the Theatre Academy Helsinki and she has studied dance also in the Amsterndan Theatre Academy.

Enrollment is binding. Cancellations must be communicated on the last enrollment day by 6 pm the latest. Please check this course's last day of enrollment from above. With the exception of injuries and illnesses certified in writing by a doctor, cancellations made later than the deadline are subject to full course fee.
Zodiak's courses and workshops can also be paid using pre-paid Liikuntaseteli and Kulttuuriseteli vouchers (Smartum Oy) as well as Virikeseteli vouchers (Edenred Oy). You can pay with the vouchers in the beginning of the first class or you can bring the vouchers to Zodiak office (open weekdays 11 am to 4 pm). It is not possible to pay the course fee with cash.
