The course conducted by Maija Hirvanen explores the pleasure of motion and our individual experiences of dance. We investigate our limits, release our power, breathing and sweating in friendship with the gravity. Course activities consist of unhurried, slowly evolving improvisation. Gentle motion-based techniques support a rich and full sense of motion and make tuning in to free dance easier.
Hirvanen comes from a background of modern dance, improvisation, contact improvisation, aikido and meditation.
