Where does motion well up from? Small corrective movements pulled by Earth's gravity grow into a kinaesthetic chain that passes through your entire structure. Instinctive, impulsive motion; grip and release in harmony. Focusing attention on different parts of the body, exploring their weight and function, while simultaneously remaining sensitive to the environment. Moving across the floor and in the vertical dimension utilising the centrifugal force while simultaneously minimising all unnecessary muscle tension. Sending your roots deep into the core of Earth, then leaping into a jump and landing gently without sound. Like a dance!
Each class begins with comprehensive warm-ups, followed by a floor technique session that leads into a closing sequence and/or guided improvisation exercises. Welcome to dance!

Janne Aspvik graduated as a Bachelor of Art (Dance) from the Theatre Academy in 2010. He has worked as a dancer in Helsinki City Theatre and in performances by Tero Saarinen, Elina Pirinen, Janina Rajakangas, Liisa Pentti, Mikko Hyvönen, Petri Kekoni, Alpo Aaltokoski and Maya M. Carroll. In 2016, he was chosen to participate in David Zambano's one-month EXIN course. Aspvik has also worked as a choreographer since 2012, and has worked as a dance instructor in many professional and student courses.

Enrolment is binding. Cancellations must be communicated on the last enrollment day by 6 pm the latest. Please check this course's last day of enrollment from above. With the exception of injuries and illnesses certified in writing by a doctor, cancellations made later than the deadline are subject to full course fee.
Zodiak's courses and workshops can also be paid using pre-paid Liikuntaseteli and Kulttuuriseteli vouchers (Smartum Oy) as well as Virikeseteli vouchers (Edenred Oy). You can pay with the vouchers in the beginning of the first class or you can bring the vouchers to Zodiak office (open weekdays 11 am to 4 pm). It is not possible to pay the course fee with cash.
