This course by Marika Peura dives into individual, personal motion through rhythm music, primarily hip hop and house. The sessions consist of warm-ups that tune the participants to the perspective of each session, exercises used to search for personal motion patterns, and motion-based activities performed in pairs and in groups. The themes of the sessions are exploration of body isolations, the skeletal structure and different qualities of motion, dynamics, intensities and grooves. The use of different rhythmic elements is also examined. Course activities are performed solo, in pairs and in groups. The course is suitable for dancers of all experience levels.
