The workshop led by Maija Nurmio studies how we create and develop interactive bodily and spatial dialogues.
During the workshop, we discuss our relationship to our surroundings, commit to exercises concerning presence and listening. We observe our physical limits and awaken spatial awareness, creating bodily conditions and circumstances. We sculpt bodily landscapes together. During the three days, we will come back to the same and/or modified exercises. Weather permitting, we can continue some of the exercises outdoors.

Maija Nurmio is a Helsinki-based dance artist who works extensively in Finland and abroad. At the heart of her artistic work lies corporality: accessing bodily knowledge and dimensions.
