Encounters in the moving glass yard is a site-specific performance by choreographers Anne Pajunen and Meri Pajunpää created together with the Young Dancers -group.

The performance looks at focusing and giving attention in order to build a loving relationship with your surroundings, with other people and with being a dancer.

In the performance the dancers challenge their habitual ways of seeing and naming things by taking a deep dive into the world of imagination and by asking what if the things I perceive, and experience could be differently? In the world of the performance, being together and being alone fluctuate forming a constantly evolving organism; a community inside of which every dancer has their own, important role and place.

During the process the group has examined how artistic practices can create a community while paying attention to the individual path of every dancer. The performance has been created in collaboration with the young dancers through various movement practices and playful exercises.

The Young Dancers is a joint performing group of dance school Tanssivintti and Zodiak, which started its activities in autumn 2022. The group will perform in three dance productions directed by professional artists every academic year. Young Dancers was born out of the need to provide young, active and skilled dance enthusiasts with opportunities to practice and learn about the processes of performing.
