Side Step Festival 2025 will host two panel discussions. One will feature artists collaborating with Zodiak and the other will bring together international festival curators.
Artists and the Side Step Festival 2025

We have invited four dance artists with whom we collaborate with to encounter the Side Step Festival’s programme from their own artistic starting points and to share their observations with the audience.
While discussing the performances we have seen so far - what sticks, what touches, what inspires? – they also reveal how they find connections to the surrounding world and how they position themselves and their art within the society.
The discussion is facilitated by Zodiak’s and Side Step Festival’s artistic director Jenni-Elina von Bagh.

Curators’ Talk

In this panel discussion international festival curators talk about festival curational practices in general. What guides, what interests, what are the practices and strategies a curator uses when navigating the process of curation? What are the challenges of artistic curation in these complex and bewildering times?
The discussion is facilitated by Peter Mills, one of Side Step Festival 2025’s co-curators.
