In the course conducted by Valtteri Raekallio the participants look for and expand their personal language of motion-based expression through improvisation tasks and guided activities. We focus on open, instinctive presence; the gaze, breathing, and the interaction between physical sensitivity and the use of strength. We conduct motion-based exercises solo, in pairs and together as a group. During the course we are also introduced to the motion-ideas of Raekallio's upcoming work Oneiron.

Valtteri Raekallio (1982–) has danced in more than 60 productions by international choreographers and frontline Finnish names of the dance scene in more than 40 countries. Raekallio was part of the Helsinki Dance Company from 2006 to 2014, and has, since 2001, danced in 14 productions directed by Tommi Kitti. Raekallio currently works as a dancer in Norway in the works of Ina Christel Johannessen.
Raekallio's choreographic works explore the interfaces between various forms of art. His latest works include the immersive performances Neuromaani (2016), Short Stories from Forgotten Rooms (2015), Representative (2014) and Where Does the Light Go? (2013), stage works Frigid (2017), A Performance (2016) and Rehearsal on Love (2015), and the dance film Cold Storage (2016). Raekallio's work is supported by Finland's national artist endowment from 2017 to 2021. www.raekallio.fi

Enrollment is binding. Cancellations must be communicated on the last enrollment day by 6 pm the latest. Please check this course's last day of enrollment from above. With the exception of injuries and illnesses certified in writing by a doctor, cancellations made later than the deadline are subject to full course fee.
Zodiak's courses and workshops can also be paid using pre-paid Liikuntaseteli and Kulttuuriseteli vouchers (Smartum Oy) as well as Virikeseteli vouchers (Edenred Oy). You can pay with the vouchers in the beginning of the first class or you can bring the vouchers to Zodiak office (open weekdays 11 am to 4 pm). It is not possible to pay the course fee with cash.
