The last Open office event of the autumn, organised jointly by Zodiak, Cirko and Dance House Helsinki, will take place on Monday, 2 December from 13-17 in Zodiak Stage (Cable Factory), Helsinki.

This time, we will focus on helping with questions regarding communications and marketing, but you can always come with other topical issues or just to work in good company.

What to prioritize if my marketing budget is low? What kind of materials work best for marketing a circus or dance performance? Is reaching out to the media simply pointless? This time, we focus on questions related to communication and marketing.

At 14:00 there will be an informal coffee table discussion on the intricacies of communications and marketing, welcome to join the conversation!

You can also book a 20-minute one-to-one sparring session on these or other issues that are relevant to you. It is also possible to have a sparring session remotely. This possibility is reserved primarily for people outside the capital region. The one-on-one sparring sessions are booked via the registration form (see below).

The purpose of the Open office is to offer the knowledge of the staff of the organizing houses free of charge to the freelance community, and to provide space and time for questions and listening, collaborative working, and meeting and sharing with colleagues.

So, in addition to discussions regarding communications, the Open office can also provide space, for example:

  • to work on a production budget or work text
  • to think together about which international organizations to approach and how
  • to ask about how associations or cultural cooperatives function
  • write emails and meet colleagues in the process
  • have a cup of coffee

The Open office is free of charge and aimed at artists and producers in the dance and circus sectors. Staff from the houses will be on hand to offer advice, sparring and discussion support on production, management, communication, internationalization and career development.
