DIG MY JOCKEY was originally a video work made in 2011 by Anna Maria Häkkinen, Jarkko Partanen and Samuli Laine. Now the group extends the work into a live performance, with the addition of sound designer Jussi Matikainen.
In the original video work, the viewer witnesses an intimate moment between a man and a woman. The man is a horse, while the woman takes on the equestrian role. The action is absurd, tender, erotic and fetish-like.
DIG MY JOCKEY – Live version is a sister work of the original. It opens up and deconstructs the themes and characters of the video in a new context. In the stage work, the balance of power is shifted and evolved through play. The performers reconstruct scenes of the video and of the created material, in front of the audience.
