Joona Halonen’s senior course invites you to marvel and experience movement. In this course, all bodies are celebrated as unique, valuable and fascinating just as they are.

In this course, all bodies are celebrated as unique, valuable and fascinating just as they are. As a participant, you have the right to be heard, seen, acknowledged and understood – both as an individual and as part of the group. Together, we will explore how to perceive our own and others’ dances as living, temporal, spatial and rhythmic experiences.

Through task-based exercises, we aim to connect mind and body while exploring ways of working together. Joona will guide you through the movement exercises, offering versatile approaches to structuring movement. Much of the work will take place in silence, creating space for focus and reflection.

Throughout the course, we will reflect on our movement both individually and with others. How does the movement feel? What shapes emerge from different areas of the body? Which aspects of the movement feel meaningful?

The exercises are not focused on the aesthetic or technical aspects of dance. Instead, they are designed to create a space for free experimentation, encouraging movement inspired by personal impulses.
