How to cause and who causes frictions?
Sonya Lindfors and Niko Hallikainen have dealt with questions about otherness, representation and power structures both together and separately, in the context of performing arts. The upcoming workshop tackles the politics of the gaze and identification. It marvels the tool called the stage and aspires to shake the dominant structures.
What is perceived as neutral, and how to call upon people living within the norm to dream from the perspectives of otherness / of the other? How do we recognize signs in a world where meanings are constantly shifting?
During the workshop we will discuss, write and do different representation related tasks. The workshop will be held remotely via Zoom. All participants will receive the Zoom link one day before the workshop the latest by email.
This workshop is held in Finnish but you don’t have to be fluent in Finnis in order to join it, English can be used if needed.
We kindly ask you to commit to the ethical guidelines (link) of the festival before signing up.
