The course is focused on the self knowledge of our body and on the research of simple movements and their meaning. The participants will be challenged to use the physicality for a deep expression and to find their own limits in the dimension of the gestures. The training will guide the group to develop the awareness of the body language, alone and together with the other.
Classes are structured with a warm up based on exercises to build endurance and stamina in combination with lengthening and stretching sessions. Short combination of movements and choreographies are used for challenge our brain, memorizing steps and shapes, and express ourselves. During the course, we will be going through basic elements from different dance techniques: floor work, improvisation, contact and physical theatre.
The course is intended for men of all ages, for beginners as well as dancers with previous experience. Course is in English and Finnish.

Beniamino Borghi (b. 1978) born in Milan, is a dancer, choreographer and media artist. He has danced since the age of eight and masters several dance techniques including tap dance, ballet, modern-jazz, contemporary and contact. He graduated as Interior designer and at the same time attended several workshop for professional dancers lead by relevant choreographers: David Hernandez, Ted Stoffer, Koshro Adibi, Inaki Azpillaga, David Zambrano, Tero Saarinen and recently DV8 Physical Theatre. He has worked as a dance teacher and choreographer for amateurs group (LODC in Loviisa) as well as professionals (Boomtown Dance and Kaakon Tanssi ry in Kotka).

Enrollment is binding. Cancellations must be communicated on the last enrollment day by 6 pm the latest. Please check this course's last day of enrollment from above. With the exception of injuries and illnesses certified in writing by a doctor, cancellations made later than the deadline are subject to full course fee.
Zodiak's courses and workshops can also be paid using pre-paid Liikuntaseteli and Kulttuuriseteli vouchers (Smartum Oy) as well as Virikeseteli vouchers (Edenred Oy). You can pay with the vouchers in the beginning of the first class or you can bring the vouchers to Zodiak office (open weekdays 11 am to 4 pm). It is not possible to pay the course fee with cash.
